Capture your tribe in a truly unique way with an illustrated family portrait.

A lovely gift to mark a special birthday, milestone or moment in your life, a family illustration can include as many personal touches and references as you wish.

An illustrated family portrait is a completely unique piece of artwork. To degree to which it is personalised is entirely up to you.

Speak to me about incorporating elements that are meaningful for you — no matter how obscure.

A reference to a holiday, a family pet, a significant car, a private joke, a special plant, a bottle of something… you tell me!

Getting started

When you’re ready to progress with your illustration, here’s what I will ask you to send to me.

Photographs

  • A photo of everyone that you would like me to draw, including pets. If it isn’t clear from the pictures, I may ask you to clarify a few additional details such as eye and hair colours, and heights/ages (especially when drawing children).

  • Photos of specific backgrounds that you have asked me to illustrate e.g. your family home.

  • Photos or images of anything else you’d like including e.g. your child’s bicycle.

  • The most useful photos for me to work from are clear, high-resolution images, taken in bright, natural light.

Other details

  • Descriptions of grouping/poses that you’d like to be drawn standing in. If you don’t have a preference, I will use my judgement.

  • Clothing preferences. If you have photos of the particular clothes you’d like to be drawn in, please send them to me. If not a description is fine.

How to book an illustration

  1. The first thing to do is email me. Tell me what you would like illustrating – the number of people and pets, background choice and your printing/framing requirements.

  2. I will send you a quote for approval, and if you’d like to progress, email you to request payment of a deposit to book in with me.

  3. I’ll request photos of your family, plus details of outfits you’d like to be drawn wearing.

  4. I will begin your drawing on a date we’ve agreed and email a preview for your go-ahead, once completed.
