From lace dresses to trouser suits, read my guide to the perfect white, special occasion outfits for your bridal shower

If you are a bride-to-be, remember this day is about you. When it comes to choosing what to wear for your bachelorette outfit, the most important thing is that you feel like the best version of you. You should look polished and chic, but still feel comfortable taking part in any hen do activities planned. To stand out amongst your hens, it’s a lovely idea to wear white – that way everyone will know you’re the bride. You can also wear cream, ivory or ecru.

Whatever celebration you have ahead of you, read on for my favourite wedding shower outfit trends.

1. White lace bridal shower dress

Lace is an elegant choice and can be dressed up or down for day or evening plans. It’s rare to have an occasion where it’s appropriate to wear white lace, so embrace being a bride-to-be, and choose a dress in the ultimate in bridal fabric.

2. Flower-print bridal shower dress

A soft, floral print adds something extra to a plain white dress, whilst still looking bridal. Florals are perfect for summer day dos, romantic picnics and afternoon teas.

3. Feminine bridal shower dress

For the utmost in femininity, look for a dress with a tiered, ruffled skirt, self-tie belts or bows. The soft layers lend themselves perfectly to laidback lunch celebrations, and dancing with your best friends.

4. Embellished bridal shower dress

If your hen party is a fancy event, you may wish to wear a deluxe cocktail dress. Cocktail and prom dresses come in all kinds of styles, from floor-grazing to tea length, and sleeved to strapless. To differentiate from a wedding dress, choose a cocktail dress with added embellishments such as 3D flowers and embroidery.

5. Silk slip bridal shower dress

For classy soirées and evening food and drinks, a satin or silk slip dress, cut on the bias is your best friend. It’s simpler than many bridal gowns, so it’ll be different to what you wear on your big day, and it’ll hug your curves. Super flattering and effortlessly sexy.

6. Statement sleeve bridal shower dress

Puff sleeves are a simple way to elevate a classic, white dress. Statement sleeves work for casual or more formal bridal showers, and will instantly level up your look.

7. White bridal shower trouser co-ord

If you are looking for a nontraditional wedding shower outfit then a trouser suit may be ideal for you. There are lots of different styles to choose from. Opt for a double-breasted, oversized jacket for a modern fit, or wide-legged trousers for a seventies look. For a suit that oozes both feminine and masculine flair, an embellished two-piece with diamanté, pearl or feather details is perfect.
