Woodland Wedding Illustration
I had the pleasure of meeting Jon and Marie at the NEC in Birmingham during The National Wedding Show. Following their wedding in January 2015, they got back in touch with me to discuss their own Bespoke Wedding Portrait.
The couple really ran with the idea of being able to capture something in an illustration that can't necessarily be captured with a photograph by combining elements from Marie's Hen Party, their proposal and the wedding day itself. Marie was fantastic in emailing me lots of ideas that the two of them wanted incorporating into their illustration. She told me about their engagement when Jon sat her on a tree stump in a small copse near to their home and got down on one knee to pop the question. This woodland reference became the basis for their drawing. As their wedding was in the evening, I drew the woodland scene at nightfall.
Marie also sent me photos showing details from their wedding to include - items such as the LED Cherry Tree decorations, their 'Just Married' sign and the burlap-wrapped candle jars they had on the tables. Other items Marie and Jon asked me to integrate into their Custom Portrait were a lucky silver sixpence, words from some of their wedding songs, a platinum-covered 'infinity rose' and a single white feather - things that are all special to them and made their wedding day, theirs!
"Thank you so much for helping us capture so much detail from our special day. Your attention to all the details we shared with you has given us an illustration that we can treasure for ever.
