FAQs

  • Naturally, it does vary, but generally, it takes one to three weeks once I make a start. This includes time for the creation of ideas (having heard all about your requirements), development of your preferred design, alterations where agreed and the finalisation of print-ready files. If you wish to have your illustrations framed, I offer beautiful frames made to order.

  • Everything I illustrate is hand-drawn, digitally. That means I draw my portraits in the traditional sense, but I use a graphics pen and tablet, rather than a pencil and a piece of paper.

Read my illustration process guide for more.

  • I certainly do. I work with specialist print studios; one of whom prints and frames my wedding, family and pet portraits, and fingerprint trees. Others take care of all my printed stationery.

All my printers are based right here in the UK and both provide exceptional print quality and attention to detail, so you can be sure that your project will be finished to the highest possible standard.

Read my printing and framing guide for more information.

  • Yes, of course. In this case, the only fee you will receive is what’s called my "Design Fee".

This is based simply on the number of hours I expect a commission to take me. Thereafter if you wish to print your project yourself, that’s absolutely fine.

I will provide the appropriate file sizes and file types at your request.

  • Every project quote includes the consultation (email and/or phone communication), the design, minor revisions, printing and additional items where needed.

All projects are different and there are many variables (paper type, size, the complexity of designs etc). If you would like to print the designs yourselves or if you are thinking ‘green’, then I will quote for my “Design Fee” only.

For an idea of my prices, please take a look at my price guide. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements for an accurate quote.

  • It’s really easy – simply tell me about your project here, or by emailing me at hello@hannahweeks.co.uk.

Having understood what you require I will provide you with a quote.

If you are happy to proceed I will invoice you for a deposit which is equal to 50% of my “Design Fee”. You will also receive a copy of my Terms and Conditions. I take payment of the deposit as acceptance of my Terms and Conditions. From here we can begin your project!

Alternatively, you can select semi-customisable artwork from my shop. These are more cost-effective because the components are already drawn. Perfect if you have a smaller budget.

  • No. Each custom project starts from the very beginning. This way, every customer has a totally bespoke design. However, you can select one of my “ready-to-buy” pieces from my shop – these are my pre-drawn range which has customisable elements such as colours, text and print finishes.

  • Digital foiling is a print process of adding metallic colours to your invitations to highlight particular words or details.

You can request added foiling on any bespoke wedding stationery, and choose it as a finishing option from most of my semi-custom invitations too.

Metallic foiling adds a beautiful, high-shine finish that catches the light and creates a luxurious look.

My Gift Vouchers are foiled on one side.

  • Yes, certainly. I will make an effort to design anything you may require.

  • No, you tell me what you want to be pictured – it’s your project! You may want an illustration of an animal, object or place that means something special to you instead.

  • No. I have my own illustration style, which I hope you like and I do not copy other artists’ work.

  • Firstly, don’t panic. I will work closely with you and ask you many questions to get an idea of what interests you.

I will come up with some ideas to provide you with an original project that reflects your personality. Where agreed I will revise the artwork as you wish.

  • Everything is sent by courier, so someone will need to sign for the package on arrival. Orders usually arrive within 1 to 2 weeks from dispatch.

  • This varies from project to project depending on the size, paper type, frame etc. I will quote for printing once I know your requirements, so please get in touch to discuss what you’re looking for.

Here’s a guide to my prices.

  • Yes, of course. If you wish to organise your own printing or if you have decided on a ‘green’ paperless invitation via email, I will supply you with the digital file(s) necessary.

  • Yes! I illustrate all projects from my studio at home, and most projects can be discussed via phone and/or email.

  • That’s absolutely fine. In most instances, basic revisions to the artwork are included in the price. I will outline the details of this when I send you a quote for the work you have requested.

If you require further revisions or a complete re-design of a project, this may incur an additional fee.

  • The invoice you receive from me includes details for making a BACS payment (online bank transfer).

If you would prefer via PayPal that’s fine too (please note though, that this does require an additional, small processing fee).

I ask for a 50% non-refundable deposit upon acceptance of the commission. I ask for the 50% remaining balance upon completion of the project before emailing/posting it to you.

  • No, I like all types of commission. Please get in touch to discuss any ideas for a project you may have.
