The site was originally founded in 2010 by brother and sister duo, Nate Padavick and Sally S. Swindell, following a family holiday together, where they came up with the idea to create a collection of illustrated recipes. They wanted to showcase different freelance illustrators' work in a visual recipe book – in an interest to to promote their fellow artists' careers. With the help of Nate's blog, lots of talented artists quickly got on board, and TDAC was born. I love this fab concept!
I have been meaning to submit some of my own pictorial recipes ever since I discovered their IG profile. Finally, after a lot of procrastination, a little note-taking and a flurry of furious scribbling, I have made some time to build my own artist profile. I have loved having this focus to create some foodie drawings, that showcase my work as a commercial illustrator.
Here's my first four illustrated recipes, including one submission for their next published book, "Soups, Stews and Chili". Fingers crossed...it would make my day to have my work printed!
Please pop over to They Draw & Cook, and give them a like if you do!
Do you have a favourite recipe? Please tell me if there's anything you would like me to illustrate next!
