This Sunday, I had the pleasure of exhibiting at Glemham Hall's "Truly Vintage" Wedding Fair, amidst their pretty gardens and a host of brilliant, wedding suppliers. I am keen to begin showcasing my work at more select, local wedding venues – this was a great place to start!
As usual my always helpful, other half, Tom packed everything up to take with me to the show. He's got optimising the space in our miniature car, down to a fine art. He is the best man for the job! After a very short drive I arrived at Little Glemham, set up my table and put up my easel. Ta dah!
There was a lovely buzz amongst all the exhibitors there and set in a pretty marquee (which was approached through a fairy-light lit Yew archway...swoon!), it was a very beautiful-looking fair.
I had a fantastic day chatting to lots of lovely bride and groom-to-bes and hearing about their wedding plans, in their varying stages of completion. I met so many other talented people in the wedding industry that help make it as wonderful and diverse as it is. My favourite new find was Polly Pickle, by the lovely Gemma, a fellow-wedding stationery supplier. If you're after hand-crafted stationery with a focus on typography, head her way!
I had a fabulous day (despite the incredible heat in the marquee, on one of the hottest days of the year), talking all day and getting excited with the couple's I met about how my drawings could be incorporated into their special day. I am sure I will be exhibiting at Glemham Hall's "Truly Vintage" show again next year!
Thank you to everyone who came to visit my table and gave me such kind comments about my illustrations. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone I spoke to and I hope I can work with you in the future, to help bring your wedding dreams to life.
